I am setting up a CO2 injection scheme for a freshwater planted tank. I will be using a glass globe-type indicator containing fluid which changes from blue to green at ~ 30 ppm dissolved CO2, and then to yellow @ > 30 ppm, approximately.

I have a bottle of API low-range ph indicator, which I am 99% sure is just bromothymol blue, and it sure looks like the indicator fluid used in these CO2 indicators is the same thing.

Does anybody know FOR SURE if the API low-range ph indicator will work properly as a dissolved CO2 ppm indicator fluid in on of these glass-globe units?

Do I need to dilute the API indicator fluid or something?
