Hi. I just started my planted nano tank. It's 30x30x30. 22L. 9W PL Light. Neutro+ Fertiliser. Tropica CO2. Colombo Flora Base Substrate.

I've got Anubias, Java moss, Lilaeopsis and Eleocharis Acicularis. I've also got dwarf saggitaria but not sure that was a right choice.

I'm looking for a background plant like vallis but not as tall for my aquarium. Vallis might be the answer, but I'm not sure. I don't mind if it grows too tall a bit and drifts along the back surface.

I'm open to any suggestions and replacements.

Here is what's going on at the moment:

twisted vallis dont grow to tall but if they do you can trim them my tank is 19" tall, and most of mine are around 10 to 15" tall

Interesting wood you have there, if it had more Anubias on it plus some rocks around the bottom and some more substrate it would make a good tree. :)

Actually that's a good idea. It will either be the sag or rotala but I've never seen rotala before in my LFS.

Cheers, I was thinking about rocks but as long as they are small or a good shape. I used some of my ocean rock but it took up half the tank haha. Do you mean bulk up the substrate around the tree or altogether? I will definitely be putting more anubias on it. Possibly wrapping some moss around the 'trunks' of it.

Thanks for the replies, I've got a much better idea now. :)

Well kind of to bulk it up round the base of what will be the tree, so some small pieces of rock and then slope the substrate up round it too if you know what I mean. :)

Luckily I spared some substrate so I'll do that tomorrow. And I'll definitely get some rocks once I find some darker ones which suit the tank. Thanks for the advice :)
