Has anyone experience in keeping Biotoecus opercularis. I can purchase wild caught b. opercularis. I just started learning about them. Before going through a neutralizer my well water has a GH of 80 ppm and a pH of 5.5. I think these fish would like that. Their adult size is around 38 mm. And I love small cichlids.

Check out the new arrivals on the Wet Spot web site. They are offering several cool killi this week.

I've come close, but was scared off by its soft water needs whenever it was available. It has a reputation for aggression within its own species, and since when it was available, my water was at 140ppm, I didn't think it would thrive stressed. It was a pricey fish back then, and I'm a cheapskate.

I don't know much about them either, they seem to be pretty rare. From what I can gather they are a blackwater species, sand sifter, lives in groups not pairs.
I saw a video a couple weeks ago of B. opercularis in the wild. I believe they were looking for other fish and just happened across them.
Here’s something in German.
