Petco and Petsmart don't seem to carry the fish I want to look for. There's another store 10 or so miles away, and even though they have a big selection it's not quite what I'm looking for. Anyone have any luck with the on-line stores? If so which ones are the best?

Look on aquabid. I buy almost all of my fish from there. They aren't stores, just independant breeders. Pretty good, just check the feedback. I have been screwed before. Look for 100% feedbacks or close to it.

Thanks sweetness, i'll be sure to check it out. What about regular stores or whatnot. I'm not big on the auction thing and if I decide what I want I may have to wait a while until it gets posted.

You can also post wanted items on there. They started that not too long ago. Worth a try. :) I get my fish from walmart and off of aquabid. I don't get out much 'cept to work, which happens to be walmart.

Hi J-Money :)

I don't like the auction idea either, but it's worth taking a look on AquaBid anyway.

I found a hard to find fish on there and emailed the seller about them. He responded with an offer to sell me as many as I wanted of them at a set price, as well giving the information I had requested.

This was my first experience buying fish by mail order and I was very pleased with it. If a seller won't take the time to answer your questions about the fish or the shipping, etc., in a courteous and thorough way, don't bother with him; just look for another one.

I have used mail order a number of times and have been very satisfied with the service, each time the fish have arived on time and in good condition. With modern shipping the fish are no more stressed by the experience than they are being purchased from a store several miles away and being able to order fish from a wider selection of shops allows us to be able to keep a far greater range of fish.

I know this isn't my post but can aquabid send fish the Western Australia?
...I mean... I really want to have a lovely betta (not saying that mine are bad) because the only types of bettas they have in the lfs are veiltails (not saying that veiltails are bad either).
Only once in a bloom will they have around 2 crowntails for sale but that it :(
