I have edited this post rather than making a new one, is there any tiny schooling fish I can have in a 3 Gallon? About 4/5 fish, preferably more.

Thanks,
Neal :good:

Not sure on fish, but a fluval two will be to powerful for that tank, a fluval one would be better.

I like the idea of the snail tank. :D I don't know why you mom doesn't. :/ Having one dwarf puffer sounds good. Or maybe a shrimp tank.

It's a very old Fluval 2, so it isn't as good as it used to be, and I think overfiltering is good as you can plenty of clean water with it, and Dwarf Puffers are messy fish. If the current is to strong for them i'm sure there is plenty of ways to lower it. I'm even considering changing it into a fry tank anyway, but i'm not sure yet.

Hmm some people say 3 Gallons, but I don't think i'll put one in just to be on the safe side. Maybe it can just sit there in my bedroom and I can watch the algae grow like i'm doing right now, surely that can be fun can't it?

Still undecided on what to do, might put my baby plecs in for the meantime, might even just make it a fry tank.

Yes, a well planted 3 gal. Hex would be a nice project. Later you could add something very small. Even a pair of ADF would be totally cool in a nice landscape. Actually a school of six green neon Tetra would be okay and lovely in a well planted tank.

Nope all I have is the tank, fluval 2 and a 50W heater. Hmm, ADF's might be a nice idea. How many could I put in a 3G? (I've heard the more the better) i'd really like a trio of them. :D I might even get a turtle but i'll be doing research on the lights you need for them first.
Regards,
Neal

a turtle! turtles are messy and need large tanks

+ they need some place out of the water to sit on and absorb light, have a rest etc, doing this ull only have about 2/thirds of the water left in (about 2 gallons)...so not deal since some grow up to 10 inch, hey??

I don't know how many. I have three, one is a fat mama. They are cool little fellows and very active. But I don't know how small a tank three can go in. You can check in the appropriate forum.

You could also do Apple snails.

Thanks for all the input guys, I know that tetra man I was just thinking of using a different tank. I've read that most people say 1 Gallon per frog, so i'm going to get 3 of them. I'd like to have a snailarium as I have mentioned above, but my mam won't let me have snails, pft mothers! (No offence Sue  ). Frogs don't need a place to come out of the water or anything do they? I may be a pain but could you tell me a simple setup for them, here are my following items, what else do I need?
3Gallon tank, rased from the floor on a little stand with a lid that tightly fits.
Fluval 2 internal filter.
50 Watt heater.
Some type of black sand, (probably tahaitan moon).
A jug full of smooth stones.
A big shell (frogs probably cant get under it and the spikes are quite sharp).
Silk plants, natural ferns and floating plants.
Cave ornaments and maybe some small coconut caves.
MAYBE- Air pump with airstone (only if I get a new one for my main tank).
How should I go about laying out this tank, and is there anything else I need?
Thanks alot, :good:
Neal

If your getting African Dwarf Frogs, they stay in water.

A few female guppies would be cool
