got some new frags yesterday on one rock i had what i think were yellow polyps, when i got home and got the bags out for acclimating i saw this......any ideas & what should i do, cheers.....kevin

whats the grey stuff where the polyps were, its quite firm to the touch

The black stuff looks like some form of sponge, not the most attractive colour, but it also comes in other colours such as blue & yellow. That said, normally its fine, but sometimes can become invasive.

The purple stuff below it, is Green Star Polyps.
 
the grey/brown stuff seems to me to be receding a little, unless i'm imagining it, and the greenstar is doing really well hopefully it will spread well as its attractive looking, i also spotted what appear to be small snow hite coloured polyps on there as well right now they are very small if they grow a bit i will try for a photo
