Is this a plant need to attach to wood?

Hey :)

I have some Anubias Nana at the moment and currently they're just sort of sitting on the substrate because they just won't stay rooted. I've read over the last few days that it's best to attach them to wood with some string/fishing line temporarily until they root, so I might try that too.

it is best to tie it to wood or rock but not essential you can plant it in the substrate aslong as you dont bury the rhizome as it will rot if you do

Does it look like mine is planted correctly? The roots are in the substrate but the rhizome is above.
