Hello,

I've got an assortment of anubias in my 120g. It's been plagued by black beard algae and the plants are looking really pathetic now so I'm hoping to do a little "hopsitalization".

I want to grow them emersed. But before I put them in the emersed setup I need to know how to prep them. I've attached some pictures. They're pretty beat up. Some are completely void of leaves. If there are leaves, they're torn up.

Do I completely remove all damaged leaves, so that just the rhizome is left? Should I prun off the leafless stocks? Before I would cut off the leaves with scissors but I read for anubias, when taking off leaves, bend the stock back on itself at the base and it should pop off. Should I do this for all the stocks I snipped off with scissors?

What else can I do to help them recover?

With mine I bought that turned up as rhizomes I trimmed back the storks and kept the rhizome submerged, once new sprouts started showing I moved it up so the sprouts were out of water and it went on from there just fine.
