another Fry

Hi just wondered if anyone can help?


Bought 2 Dalamtions Mollies last Monday woke up on Tuesday and had 13 fry. Today Monday there was another 10 fry. Do you think i have purchased 2 female Mollies or can a female have a fry so soon (within a week).

Most likely you have 2 females. Giving birth shouldn't take more then a day or two. Easy way to tell if its a female is there will be a gravid spot(dark spot near the anal fin that indicates fry are inside) and ofcourse a big belly. No males will have a gravid spot and are often smaller compared to the females.

Its quite hard to tell as they are bot Dalmation Mollies one is white with black spots the other is Black with white spots but hubbie trying to have alook and see.
