Morning all!

I have six angels in my tank and one definate pair (have seen them lay eggs on several occassions). However, I have seen the male of that pair 'flirt' with other females by way of cleaning potential spawn sites, yet I have not seen any of the 'flirting' lead to eggs.

Is it possible that one male might spawn with several females

I don't see why not. In nature they would mate for one breeding sessions then move on. The pair are staying together due to the artificial environment they are in. By that I mean, perfect water, constant temp, plenty of food... Most likely he only has moved on because she is the dominant, most compatible female in the tank.

I see, I was under the impression that they paired for life.

I'm not aware of any cichlid that pairs for life. I'll be the first to admit that I'm probably wrong on that tho.
