Angelfish Possible Pair Attacking Plants?

hey guys,
i an almost indefinite
pair of angelfish who have their spawning tubes out and that and are cleaning a surface.

Only problem is they are attacking my one plant... well im not sure actually they just put their mouths on its blades and swim? what are they doing...?

possibly cleaning it to spawn on the plant? mine have done that before.

yeah when i posted this they were doing it on a plants that was sorta like long grass and eack blade was about 4mm wide, so thats why i wasnt sure, now they've moved to the amazon sword and have doing it to that for about 3 hrs, but the leaves are tiny on that too, but now they're tryna kill my discus

so do you know how long till they lay eggs? they started around midday yesterday, its 11:10 where i am now

Mine would usually prep for up to a day before laying, so I would expect it soon if it is going to happen. If they are with other fish, don't expect them to be successful with eggs. The most success I had was them guarding the eggs for a day and then eating them.
