This is the second time I've caught my angelfish laying eggs in the tank. The first time, the eggs were gone in the morning. They were deposited on an Amazon Sword leave and could have been removed easy. This time, they're in the glass.
I was thinking of hanging a breeder net over the eggs to protect them from the other fish.
From what I read, in 48 hours the "tadpoles" should be visible still stuck to the glass.
Right now the other fish are giving the Angel pair a break. For a while there was a ton of commotion. Eggs were knocked off and a brief frenzy took place. They redeposited more eggs and I estimate 50+. They are really going at it. Looks like they're cleaning another area
To continue,
My 125g tank is about 18 months old. Everything was fine until 12-23-11. All my madagascan rainbows died in a group. The next day a bloom of ramshorn snails appeared. That hurt. I became busy and the tank suffered from disgust. I got back on track about a month ago and cleaned up the algae problem on the front glass.
I still love my fish and they have wonderful colors. Mostly rainbow around 5 species. Red, Yellow Bosemani, Neon and Turquoise, and oh yeah, a mystery rainbow. I thinks she's an emerald. Also have 3 Roseline sharks and 2 flying fox. 1 Rainbow Shark, and 3 Angels. About 22 total.
Any good advice on protecting the eggs?
I don't have an emergency tank ready, but there's a 2.5g, filter and heater around.
Of course 125 gallons of water ready for fish.
