Somewhere over the rainbow...
A long time ago I was at a fish store, and I saw some gravel labled "Ammonia Resistant Gravel" and "Nitrate Resistant Gravel" and that kind of stuff. Does anyone have any info about this stuff? Just curious...

Thats absolute bull****, just a selling technique. Ammonia is given out through the fishes gills and waste whilst nitrate is a byproduct of ammonia(converted by beneficial bacteria) Nothing to do with the gravel, its the bacteria that does all the chemistry, not fancy gravel.....bacterial will colonize any surface in the fish tank.

Maybe the gravel contains some crazy new way of absorbing and holding ammonia or nitrate, but that would absorb only so much. could be some sinister way of selling a product. oh well at least government corruption is at 33% :( (oops, sorry, I'm a bit off topic there). :D

IF it were true, I wouldn't use it. Same as the ammo-lock med and ammo media bags, they will hurt with the Nitrogen cycle.
