Hi :) I just recently got a betta fish and I had been using the test strips to test the water because that was all I could afford but I just bought the API master tester kit and nitrate and nitrite came out perfect but the ammonia water was clear? The only options are yellow to green so does clear mean thereā€™s no ammonia? I put photos as well :) thanks

Something went wrong. Did you both ammonia bottles?

So you added 8 drops of ammonia test solution #1 then 8 drops of ammonia test solution #2?

Oh I didnā€™t realize you were supposed to be together i put the #1 and #2 in different vials oops Iā€™ll do it again

Did you do the same with the nitrate test? That has 2 bottles as well.
Bottle #2 contains a reagent which settles out on the bottom, so the shaking in the instructions is important to get this reagent back into the liquid. Shake the bottle before adding the drops even more than the instructions say for more accurate results.
