I finished the cycle on my 10 gallon tank about a week ago and have 4 platys, 4 Juliis, 2 small amazon swords, a banana plant, a java fern, couple bunches of anacharis, and a small bunch of cryptocyrne. The java fern and amazon swords have been in the tank even throughout the cycle. Some of the leaves on the swords began to turn yellow and one deteriorated and turned clear. I pruned all the bad leaves off during the last stages of the cycle because I had noticed some new leaves coming out in the center. Both plants have a nice bunch of new growth in the center, but they don't seem to be growing very fast. Also, one plant is made up totally of the new growth, I pruned all the larger leaves off. The other plant has 2 original large leaves still on, but the tips are yellowing. My question is what do I do about the slow growth and yellowing? I know I've heard swords need lots of iron. I have some Aqueon plant fertilizer that has 0.12% chelated iron in it. I've dosed it a couple times in the past week. 5mL each dose. The bottle recommends 10mL a week but that splitting the dose up is beneficial. What should I do?
