Hi All, I have a 20 gal high tank. I do 25% water changes every two weeks. In the tank I have 4 mollies, two dwarf gouramis, three corys.and a 2-3" pleco. Everyone seems to be healthy and happy, but I am a little concerned that I may have overstocked with such a small tank. Any advice sure would be appreciated. Thanks

I'd say no... but what sort of a pleco... if its a common or any species thats going to get large I swap it for something like 2/3 ottos or something. Plecos grow big, fast!

thanks fish are friends, not sure what type pleco .He or she is dark in color with light colured spots lfs said that it's not one that grows overly large but I don't really trust them.If the rest are fine and it starts getting too big I'll have to trade him out for something else. thanks again. :good:

If you can post a picture, I could let you know what sort it is. Although it does sound like a bristle nose and they can get to 10-12cm on average. If its a bristlenose I'd of thought it'd be fine in there but I'd get a second oppinion.

Your stocking level should be fine at the moment for a 20H. In the long run you may need to move your plec to a larger tank depending what type you have. Some plecostomus can get to be over 20 inches long and would have no room to turn around in a 20H.

you may not be overstocked biologically, the bottom of the tank might. fishes occupy different levels of the aquarium. your gouramis are surface dwellers. mollies are midlayered. all the catfishes live near the bottom, which could be a little crowded.
