Altolamprologus Calvus Breeding Advice

Hi, ok so I have a bit of a breeding situation going on and need some advice.

I have this 6" shell in which I have a Altolamprologus Calvus spending a lot of time in. She is being guarded by a large male so what do I do. I already have an aerated breeding trap containing minute Neolamprologus leleupi fry and would happily get another to bring on some Altolamprologus Calvus.

My question is do I leave the Altolamprologus Calvus be or do I empty the shell into a breeding trap?

Either or . . . .
Probably best bet is to wait till they are out at the mouth of the shell or left the shell all together. Pouring them from the shell runs the rick of some sticking to the side as the water leaves the shell. They are incredibky slow growers, I have some sumbu shell here and they are still tiny, the caudopunctatus fry are way much quicker at growing. Congratulations on the spawn, good luck with the fry

I just feel that the first fry that emerge will be scooped up by the Tetracanthus which are constantly hanging around the shell.
I think that is what happened the last time they spawned

Well, during my water-change I transferred approximately half the fry from the shell to a specially adapted breeding trap. Then, after making sure there was no trapped air in the shell and that the remaining fry were safely tucked in, I replaced the shell in it's usual place.

I am glad to say that the female is back to going in and out of the shell and the male remains on guard. Also the fry in the trap are perfectly happy

All bases covered me thinks!
