Algae?

Tank is up about 6-8 weeks now, did a fishless cycle, now there is some algae appearing on the walls of the tank. Is this indicative of too much light? At the moment I have the light on from 12-2 and 4-10, for a total of 8 hours of light each day.

Looks like diatoms to me.

What strength lights are they and what size tank?

Just wipe it off with an algae brush.

it looks like GSA (green spot algae). Its normally resolved by upping flow from your filter outlet. It can also be a sign of low C02. Cutting the photoperiod often helps as well.
