Hello. Iā€™ve had a lot of green hair algae in my fish tank so I have cut down on my lighting from 10 hours to about 6-7. The algae has now collapsed into a shroud of green slime draping over my plants. Itā€™s very hard to remove as it no longer has the strength of the filaments and it disintegrates. Has it died? Is there a good way to remove it other then trimming the plants is coating?

I have had this in the past and like @TheTenthDoctor recommended I used my vacuum to get what I could. I also took anything in the tank that had it on and washed it off. I now have live plants so not sure what to do with them.

Thanks guys. Iā€™ll try this later.
