Algae or dying swords?

My Amazon sword plants are turning brown. Is this algae or are they dying?

hard to tell....but they dont look very healthy from those pics

I pulled them all up about a week ago to split them cause they were dividing. When I replanted them I gave them root tabs. Now they look like this.

i would give them another week to get their roots stabilized again and see if they improve

Ok. Hopefully they improve. I don't really feel like replacing them. I got all of these from my daughter's Amazon sword. It was giving off a lot of babies then suddenly it stopped.
