i have heard that some algea eaters kill other fish, as far as i can tell i bought an algae eater from a shop called tthe Japanese Koi Company, they todl me that they would be fine in a communtity, but will they really, can anyone tell me as i have mixed reviews of this fish.

Someone had a rant last time I said this, but here goes, if its an oto, they are fine, but if it a Chinese algae eater/sucking loach, they can become aggressive and suck the slime coat from some fish. Both are great for algae though.

that CAE looks like a flying fox,
are they the same fish under different names?

CAEs' become very aggressive as they get older. only one specimine should be kept as they are very territorial to their own kind.

Nope different fish

CAE's are Gyrinocheilus aymonieri
