I have just setup a tank, and put in a powerfull air pump that drives both the undergravel filter and a wand... even though the air pump doesnot make sound at all, however if i put my ear to the tank i can hear the loud vibrating noise of the diaphram!!!

is this dangerous to the fish?

I know that tapping the glass can stress a fish out, but I'm not sure about your setup. I wonder if it is ok because it was made for fish tanks? Hmm... maybe I have too much faith in fish equipment?

Hope this helps!

maybe u install an air pump with far greater fire power then you need :). Generally it would stress fish once bubble inside ur tank r going too fast. Dude if you were the fish would you like to stay inside a house that was next to a construction building. Answer is definately no.
