I have a relitivly new 10gal tank in which I had a Hagen pump that finally died on me (it was old) and I am looking at replacing it with a Rena 100 to replace it. The questions I have are how silent is the Rena, as my SO hates loud pumps when he is trying to sleep, and is there a connector like a T or Y that I can attach two lines to it? Would it still work well, or should I get a larger pump? I had airstones on each side of my tank and the fish seemed to love it. s it also fine to leave them without any added air source? I have read that they do not need the extra air, but they look sad. Thanks.

well i fyou have a strong filter, the water splashing down from the filter through cause enough disturbance in the surface of the water for air diffusion.

In my 25g i don't have any added air stones, just the water splasing down from the filter and i've never had any problems.

I don't use the RENA brand but it should be okay. if it's noisy just return or excahgne it for another one.

Here is a picture of how my air lines are set up..ecxuse the terrible paint drawing, but teh blue blob to the left is the air pump, and then the red lines are hte valves. as you can see from 2 outlets i sepreate my lines into 6 different lines which goes to sponge filters, and varoius air stones

it's kinda messy with all the airlines running everywhere tho -_-

Renas IMO are the best, they are dependable and very quiet!

I also have mine running to 2 tanks to answer that question.

I have mine sitting on top of some extra filter sponge cause I did hear slight vibration from it sitting on the wood surface.

I own rena 400, so that is much stronger than 100, so 100 should be perfect
