Anyone think this is the problem?

Been switching the lights on at different times the past few days, some days 8am some days 11am, and the lily pipes had bad flow too, switched back to the old outlet and now everything is swaying so there should be better flow, anyone know if algae will appear over night or if it takes a few days of bad flow?

so, there's no algae?

If theres no algae, everything is good :good:

Oh just looked at it and looks like there was none, sorry it was all over the rocks and some on the glass plus a little on the HC and some hair algae on the moss lol. Cleaned everything off the rocks and glass with a toothbrush and done another 50% water change, ammonia very low, nitrites very low, nitrates 50MG/L. The flow and dodgy light timing is all I can think that might be causing it. Do you know if it just springs up over night or does it take a few days of bad flow? If it takes a few days then it points towards them dodgy lily's?

It just depends on which algae it is. Things like diatoms, can appear overnight. GSA and GDA normally take a few days to take hold, but you would notice these.

Its brown so diatoms really on few HC leaves and green brown algae on rocks and hair algae on moss.

Up the C02 a little, now the flow is better, you should notice start to notice a difference. Get a couple of Amanos as well. They will keep it in check for you.

Cheers mate your a star, already dosing 1.4ml excel which is prob a little too much as once you take the substrate into account there is prob 50L in there.
