The LFS has a tank full of African Butterfly Cichlids (A. Thomasi), and I am thinking about picking up several (maybe 4) to add to my tank. Here's my current set up:
75 gallon
pH 7.2
Temp 80F
25% water changes weekly
3 Bolivian Rams
2 Keyhole Cichlids
5 Gold Barbs
4 Tiger Barbs
3 Florida Flag Fish
1 Common Plecostomus
1 RTBS
The tank has a bunch of hiding places, and fake plants.
Everyone is getting along well now, and I do not want to add any thing that is too aggressive. The LFS told me that the butterfly cichlids need to be in a "cichlid" tank, but everything that I have been able to find online says that they are not a particularly aggressive fish. I'm looking for some help from anyone who has kept them in the past, and if you think I could add some without issue.
Thanks in advance.
