Has anyone used this?

I dose EasyCarbo at the moment daily, and Profito once a week after the 50% water change.

However I still have BBA and my plants are going brown  I was advised I need to dose macro nutrients as well as the micro nutrients I get in EasyCarbo.

This product looks ideal.

I have 2x39w T5's, Eheim 2217+, Koralia Nano (so altogether a 10x turnover), fair amount of plants. I have also bought an extra spray bar as the standard one just isn't long enough. I may end up getting a 3rd as this will go on my 4ft. But will see how it goes.

So, if I got this and continued with the other things - will it help to get rid of this #41#### algae??

Or I might get Tropica Plant Nutrition+, as it seems to contain everything?

The AE+ is the same as TPN+ but half the price. I have just received a package from AE and they sent me a letter with all the new range on. Looks very good value for money.

Buy the AE+, i know i might get some.

I currently use TPN+ and dose 12ml per day in my 240l tank as recommended by yourself Ian. This will make a bottle of 500ml last me 41 days. at a cost of £16.50 + delivery.

If i was to buy a 500ml of AE Design Aqua Nourish+ and dose at the rate recommended which is 10ml for every 20 gallon of water i would need to be dosing around about 25ml a day. So a 500ml bottle would last me 20 days at a cost of £7 plus delivery.

So yes its cheaper but i only get half the days as i would with TPN+

Or am i missing something here and making myself look like a looney :D

Cheers
LP

I did read this about the tpn which is interesting "However note that if algae growth starts, PLANT NUTRITION+ liquid will promote this growth."

That is true; nutrients will feed algae but they do not cause algae

That is where most people get mixed up.

so how do i get rid of the algae i have already?

Manual removal. Make sure plants are healthy so that they dont leach ammonia. Ammonia and light will trigger algae spores to bloom. All algae spores are looking for is ammonia and light. Water changes help remove algae spores.

So unhealthy plants leach ammonia ? such as old raggy java fern leaves as i have some that have a little hair algae.

So do I need to cut off all affected leaves? What about the brown ones? The BBA won't come off  #41#### stuff.

Aye. Both of you, cut those leaves off.
A plant uses less energy forming a new leaf than it does repairing and old, infected leaf. Pruning also promotes growth.

OK thanks Radar. I'll do it at the same time as sorting my new tank out.

So should I get the complete stuff - TPN+?
