I've just ordered a new filter a fluval 1 and atm have my fluval 2 in there way too big for there tank. My question is my fluval 2 was a brand new one as am currently cycling the other tank, when i put this new filter in do i just do water changes to keep the ammonia and nitrate levels down. Any products i should add, the tank is a year old so was originally cycled. Atm the fluval 2 is probably over filtering the tank :( but nothing i can do till the new filter arrives.

try taking the sponges out of the u2 and place them in the u1 by maybe cutting them in half. water changes would be good :good:

Awesome,Thanks for that was a bit worried cause the fluval 2 thats in there atm was a new pump what i had lying around :) had a horrible time last night with everything spiking, all sorted and no fish loss few :)
