so theres this website (i forgot...) that sold adopted fish that had some sort of issues for half the price

Nothing wrong with adopting fish, but depending on the "issues" mentioned.
Don't adopt fish that have healthissues.

yeah that's what they were kind of stating, it had a lot of warnings
tbh im willing to take a disabled but perfectly fine betta
maybe some of them are just not pretty or stunted
