i have just ste up a hagen co2 systme on my tank so i am hoping to see soem increased growth in the next few weeks! it came with some in greval stick filters should i add these as well as the tabs i already have or not?

only use them under big root feeders ie swords etc when the tabs have run out. dont use both or you'll have an algae bloom.

i use 4 in my 40G and 2 in my 12G. never had any problems and the roots do grow around the stick so must be doing something good.

And now you tell us ! I was wondering why all of a sudden I'm getting fluffy hair-like agae on my lovely vallis so should I take these stick things out under them

check your water first, if your low on iron/nitrate or co2 that could be the cause.

if you have too much of either then remove the sticks. (iron/nitrate that is)
