Acrylic Tank

Does anyone know where to buy a 10gal acrylic tank in the US relatively cheap?

No lfs in my area carries them. I decided to go acrylic on my mantis tank. Better to be safe than sorry...

a glass 10 gallon tank will be fine. take a piece of acrylic and put it on the bottom of the tank then cover it with your substrate. I have had my mantis in a glass tank for months now and I have never had a problem, or even came close to a problem.

What type of mantis do you have? I have lately been leaning towards a Peacock Mantis because of their beautiful coloring. I know eventually I will have to upgrade tank size, but I was concerned this species may break the side glass

Heh, unfortunately "affordable acrylic tanks" is an oxymoron when discussing small tanks. Glass is always cheaper when the tank is smaller (say under 200gal) but above 200gal, acrylic then becomes more expensive than glass.

Its on all your consciences if I have a Living Room Rug Mantis though!!! HAHA

Pet smart has cheep acrylic aquariums. Though I dont know if extruded acrylic would hold up much better than glass against a mantis blow. Get glass for now its only 10 bucks. Keep your eye out for a used sump or something. There are tons of DIY reefers in MA. getting a used cheep small container made from cast acrylic shouldn't be too hard.
