Guys HELP!

Was thinking about adding a few hardy fish today to give my cycle a good start yet tested my pH first, i was shocked to find it was pH6 WELL in actual fact, yellow and lowest on the scale, therefore it could be lower!!!

I only have plants in the tank! The only thig i`ve added is a CO2 unit for my plants but its only been fully working a day or two!

Can anyone help, i dont understand what could have caused it. Tanks been running for about 5 days!

5 days isnt long.. the cycle can take weeks

give it time to settle the chemichal levels, :fun:

We added a DIY CO2 unit a while back about found the pH dropped dramatically within two days, we panicked and took it out again and haven't put it back. We have fish and didn't want to risk it. CO2 dissolved in water makes acid (cant remember which one) so I think that could have something to do with it.

Its carbonic acid, but i didnt realise it could have such a huge effect!
