I was just messing around in my tank with a bit of plastic I was trying to attach some moss to.

My curious betta was swimming near my hands and I accidentally flicked him with the plastic! He seems to have a little scratch now on his back.

He seemed stressed and swam quickly away. He's now hanging around the bottom of the tank, swimming kind of like he's irritated.

What should I do? Will he be okay?

Keep a close eye on him, and you need to keep his water nice and clean - 20% daily, or thereabouts should be fine. Keep an eye out for fungal infections, but that will be avoided with decent water.

Okay, thank you for your quick reply.

I will keep with the wc's.

He is swimming normally now, but I can see the wound on his back.

The "swimming normally" is a good sign.

I would say that as long as you keep the water clean and warm, he should be perfectly fine.

+1 on whats been said so far. He may have the grumps on with you now though ;)

Maybe turn the lights off to reduce stress for a little bit?

Thanks all :) lights are off.
Water is about 26 - 28 Celsius as always

He is not grumpy thankfully xD
Though he was straight after it happened.

Fighter fish are troopers!

They are quite strong!
I hope he's doing better today!

Did he get any better? I found that one of my guppies got an infection after he tore his tail!
