Hi all!

This fellow is mark suckerberg the common pleco and recently he's gotten something that looks a little like an abrasion.

I'd like to preface this by saying he's behaving absolutely fine and showing no signs of ill health. He has a penchant for destruction though and can be rather clumsy, there's quite a few surfaces he could knock himself on including rocks.

Is this something benign which will heal and is just a result of him having one braincell? Or should I be worried. This guy is my first large pleco so I apologise if this is just me being paranoid.

You can see there's very slight redness in a single area

Ouch... You can dose salt to the tank if needed but that may heal up by itself. Salt always helps though

Look your tank over really good and see if you can spot something he may have run into and fix that. I had a piece of driftwood that had some sharp points on it that injured a fish. A little work with a Dremel tool fixed that.
