Up until a week ago, I only had one parrot cichlid. I aquired two other mystery fish, which have now been determined to be a johannii and a livingstonii, as well as a dragon goby all together (in a seperate tank from the parrot for now). The parrot is quite large; about the size of the palm of my hand. The two other cichlids are still very small; maybe 1-1/2 inches long. However I've noticed that the johannii is pretty aggressive and pushes the others away from the food all the time. The johannii, livingstonii, and goby came from the same tank, but I have a feeling it won't be wise to keep them together permanently, plus with the parrot, with the johannii's behavior. Is there any chance it can work out in a big enough tank? I know, this is what I get for taking on two mystery fish and trying to make it work, but what do you guys think? =\

Also, I just wanted to mention again, the johannii, livingstonii, and goby are together in a quarantine tank. I haven't noticed excessive nipping or chasing. It's really only around feeding time when the johannii seems bossiest. Still, I just don't want to wait until it's too late and have someone get hurt...

Hi there, I wouldn't keep the parrot with the other cichlids, parrots are south american cichlids and require totally different water parameters, so it would be better to keep it separate, I am not sure about the goby but I do know that mbunas should really only be kept in a species tank, the only fish to keep them with would be syndontis catfish or a bn pleco, there may be others but these are the only two I know of that can handle their agression.
