My hubby is getting me a new 55 gallon for my birthday, :D but he nearly had a heart attach when he saw the prices on the stands. The wood stand they had there was $200.00 and that did not iclude the top that goes over the tank. It was almost $300 for the entire thing without the tank i might add. How difficult is it to make a stand for a 55? I would like it to also hold two 10 gallon tanks underneath. I would say that i am pretty handy at building things, but do not even know where to start with a tank stand. :*)
He said i will not be getting the 55 which alone costs $150.00 unless i can figure out the stand problem. :-( :sly: Please help so my fish have more room.

The above link will give you some basic material and building guides for a stand. To make a basic stand would not be difficult. Could consist of 2x4s for the frame and just cover with pieces of stained oak panels where you want to cover. You could make the frame in a few hours with a saw, powerdrill and some screws. Oh and a tape measure ;)

Thank you impur, my hubby looked at the sites and it looks like my 55 may be on its way. :p :fun: :hyper: I will let you know and hopefully post pics when i get it all done. Thank you again. I am so excited now. Sandy

yo-

you could try what i did... just put that tank up on cinder blocks. i arranged 12 cinder blocks and some boards for the top and bottom. cheap, looks nice, you can paint the blocks easily with a can of spraypaint and paint the boards with a lil paint and a brush any color you want. peace.
