A Rather Stupid Question..

I have two honey gouramis in my tank and they seem to have black bellies. I'm Sure I read somewhere that they get black bellies when they're happy. Please could someone tell me if this is true or not.

hi, i'm no 100%, but i think that only the males belly goes black. i think that it happens when they are mature.

and i've just noticed. at the top of the box that i am replying to, it says: 'replying to a rather stupid question' made me laugh.

PC is correct. Only mature males have the dark bellies. I've noticed that my male's dark patch is sometimes more pronounced than other times. Perhaps indicating he's wanting to spawn?
