A Question About Stocking

i will have a 5 gallon betta tank (see Cool Ideas *should be under this thread*)and i might have 3 pygmy cories and i was wondering if any kind of shrimp will wwork and if so which kind(s)
could you also tell me numbers
if a mod thinks this will do better in the shrimp section,you could put it there

You can keep quite a few cherry shrimp in a 5 gallon tank as long as you are able to keep the water clean through filtration, plants or regular water changes. I have 25 cherry shrimp in my 6 gallon and they are already breading well.

alright will my betta or corries eat them also i will have 2 broad leaf plants and 1 side of the tank grav. and the other side sand

The betta will eat the small ones but will leave the adults alone. The cory might get the tiny babies but will leave all the others alone. 5-10 shrimp is a good place to start.

Though mine haven't, I certainly believe you. They are hunters and do a good job if it. I can imagine if the shrimp was near the surface (especially if you have frogbit) that it would be easily in the betta's natural hunting zone.

It's pretty devastating but amazing at the same time when they do it. My advice is to try it out with the shrimp.

Amano shrimp there quick thorough and grow to a size were betta's wont mess with them least in my experience. Also there very peaceful.

I like them. The main reason I like the cherry shrimp better is their ability to breed in freshwater and their lack of a larval stage. That and - RED!
