I think I had a pretty good idea, my Husband was wanting to make a over to slide over the top of various corydoras eggs in the tank rather than having to use a razor blade to scrape them all off the glass. So in a moment of genius we got a couple of under gravel bases to act as the safety covers for the eggs. Anyway today when mucking around giving one of my large 4ft tanks a massive over haul I decided I would try can get the moss to behave itself. The moss has been attaching itself to bits and peices all over the tank, and anything that wasn't firmly attached the cory's knocked off and it ended up being wrapped around the filter uptake. Here's where my second idea comes in, I got a couple of suction caps that where for other fish parafornalia and not being used and put the suction caps on the molded in pegs on the underside of the under gravel filter base. I then collected clumps of the moss that was escaping all over the place and sewed (needle and cotton thread) the clumps onto the front of the under gravel filter and even sewed some Java fern onto a low corner. And voila I have a vertical garden that hopefully will eventually be covered fully by the two types of moss and Java fern, the shrimp have a wonderful new feeding area and the Borneo suckers took all of a minute to discover this new wonderfully hidey hole, and have promptly ducked in behind the whole thing, as have some of the shrimp.
