This guy's got up to 6 L173s for $35 each. If I had the money, I'd gamble on one or two just to see how they grow. These shouldn't be authentic Zebras, but if they are 173s, then they are one of the more convincing imitations.

If you're seriously interested, I'd suggest that you ask for a picture that shows the nose. That's where the markings should be the most distinctive and zebra-like. I assumed that these were tank-bred and asked for a picture of the parents, but he said they were wild-caught. So that's where the gamble comes into play.

Just thought I'd bring it to everyone's attention.

 the more that i look, the more i want them... :( :( :(

i got the guy to send me some pictures; can anyone confirm them as 173s? (no one bid on the auction, so i'm sure he'll put it up again.)

I'm no expert but I was reading the latest edition of PFK magazine yesterday and there's an article on some L-fanatic in Singapore and there's a pic of an L98 (Peruvian zebra or Broken-Line zebra) that looks very similar - IMHO

That's Laurence, a very nice guy. He's a moderator on plecofanatics.

i don't have access to the physical PFK and am having trouble finding pics of the L98. can anyone help me out?

Here's a pic of one - http://www.plecofanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4265

Looking at it now though, I'm not sure it's the same species as the ones in the Aquabid auction - the black markings on the body seem to be 'more horizontal' on the L98 on the link I've just given you. Very attractive pleco though
