72 Gallon Axolotl Tank

Finally had enough time today to put the semi-final touches to the tank so I moved my two axolotls into the tank and then watched them explore!

They seem to love the new set up....and I love watching them explore.

Two very spoilt axolotls! I love that sand. And the tree cave! Where do you get them from? Are you planning on putting some of the babies you raise in with them when you get big enough?

The batch I was raising is practically all gone now....I am waiting for my next batch! They went like wildfire in my area of the country because there is not a petstore with in 100+ miles of me who can source them or takes the trouble too. I had people drive 50+ miles to take a few, and one person had a relative visiting from Tennessee (I am in Rhode Island) who took about 60 home with them because they work for a privately owned petstore.....so I am pretty happy over here lol.


The sand is a brand called "Marinesand" and I bought it and the log at local petstores Petco/PetSmart (can't remember which one) and Pet Supplies Plus.

I love this sand - -it rinses really well for me and is very soft and not at all grainy.
