50 Watt Heater

Was wondering if a 50 watt heater would be to much for a 3 or 5 gallon aquarium--thought about buying at least 2 for my 10 gallon tanks, but I have a 5 gallon with 1 male and a 3 and 4 gallon tanks with a single male in each but I'm wanting to buy at least 1 more heater for the 5 gallon and maybe 1 for the 4 gallon--since Petsmart has adjustable 50 watts for under 10.00 I thought I'd buy some for my tanks.

I use a 50w in my spawn tank that usually only holds 4 gals during spawn...never had prob with it so long as you have a decent one that is reliable. Setit up for a few days to make sure it doesnt fluctuate.
