50 Liter Ideas?

Just bought the girlfriend a 50 litre tropical setup, any ideas on what to put in it??

What's her favourite colour? Is your water hard or soft, and what are the dimensions of the tank?

A group of tetra species ( quite a few to name) maybe some guppies or a shrimp tank maybe or a Betta?

Any Idea's of what you would like?

Purple, unsure on the waters hardness the ph is around 8 though and the dimensions of the tank are 20 x 12 x 12

Ah, another quest for purple fish! Unfortunately there really aren't any; only emperor tetras, which are too big, purple pencilfish, which are rare and horribly expensive or the occasional betta.

The higher pH might be a problem for most tetras; cherry barbs and shrimps perhaps? A trio of shelldwellers (although you'd have to ask the shellies about tank size, they're not a fish I've ever kept)?

Purple and hard water... Has to be a species only tank group of Aphanius mento (Persian Killifish)!

Go for a nice Betta, create a flooded plain/rice paddy biotope for it. Still water, nice clean sand and heavily planted. Maybe some White cloud mountain minnows if the temperature is on the lower side.

Thats what i'd do.
