Can anybody recommend a good online site to buy 2 49W 34" T5's?
Been to my local B&Q today but no luck. Also not having much luck on google.

At this wattage for such a short tube, do i need to get T5HO?
Is there any real difference between T5's and T5HO's?
And whats the best colour to aim for?
Day light? Around 7000, or do i need more around 4500?
I want a bright clean crisp light which will really show off the colours of the fish and plants.
Not a fan of these yellow tingy tubes.

Any help and links will he greatly apprechiated
Thank you.

865 is the colour I used.

Is your tank a Juwel tank? If so your only options are Juwel, Arcadia or Iquatics bulbs.

No its a Fluval. It will take any 849mm T5's.
I currently have 2 39w T5's.
I want to step up the wattage abit but cant find any 849mm T5's with a wattage higher than 39w.

Putting a 49W tube in a 39W fitting doesn't mean more light, the ballast determines power output, if you put a tube of higher power in the same fitting the output will still be the same, the tube may not even light.

You could try high output 39W tubes however.

This is what i thought. Using HOT5's wont give me more wpg tho will it??
How do i increase wpg if i cant increase the wattage?
Is it a simple case of adding a seperate 3rd T5?

Forget about WPG for the meantime, think about light output, yes you will have the same ratio of Watts to Gallons, but the light output will be more, really we should be considering PAR, but yes using HOT5's will give you more light per gallon.
