Just looking for some advice from some hobbyists who are more knowledgeable than I...

I've just bought a new 33 gallon tank (125 litres), which is 32in x 14in x 17in (length x depth x height)

I'm considering what to stock it with, and at the moment I was thinking that the following would be a good combination...

2 powder blue dwarf gourami
3 ghost glass catfish
6 harlequin Rasbora
5 peppered cory

From what I've read, these guys should be okay to put together. However, I did think that I could maybe get another small group of fish. I was thinking maybe of getting 3 or 4 guppies, or alternatively 6 neon tetras. Would that be too much?

Would it be disastrous to add 1 koi angelfish to the list of the original 4 species? I know compatibility is no exact science, but I'm sure more experienced hobbyists would have an opinion.

Thanks in advance for any help.

That seems like a good start. Alot better than what most people come up with to start.
I personally think a big shoal of 1 type of fish looks better than to smaller groups. I wouldnt risk Guppies and Gouramis. Im not sure how the Glass cats will do with the Gouramis i think theres a good chance the Gouramis will nip at them.
I dont think the Gourami and Angels would be a good combo it could work but often doesnt. Ive always found Dwarf gouramis to be quite nippy and pushy with other fish and they seem quite prone to internal parasite infections so i personally would leave them out. If it was me i would go for a few peaceful cichlids.
I would go for
4 Geophagus iporangensis or Biotodoma cupido or a pair of Red breasted acara
6 Panda corys
8 Harlequin rasbora
8 Marble hatchets

The only issue I can see is the Dwarf Gourami bullying the Glass Catfish.
Here is what I would do:
2 Powder Blue Dwarf Gourami (pair)
6 Indian Glassfish (unpainted/not dyed)
8 Espei Rasbora or 8 Hengeli Rasbora
6 Peppered Corydoras

Thanks for the tips. The only issue is that I have to go by what stock is available at the place I am going to buy them. A lot of your recommendations aren't stocked, unfortunately. I definitely like the gouramis, but I'd like a harmonious aquarium more. Do you think that having 1 angelfish with the rasbora's, cory's and ghost class catfish would work?

I've only just set up the tank, so I have plenty of time to decide still.

I kind of agree, for me the glass cats are the unknown quantity for attracting some aggression from either the dwarves or the angel. I've had them in the past but don't particularly remember them being bothered by others (doesn't say much.) I agree there'd be a good chance the dwarves and angel would go after each other (its unpredictable but a distinct possibility.)
