Hey everyone, I got 6 panda Corys a couple of weeks ago and now I'm down to 3 :-( found the first dead Friday tea time , the second yesterday morning and the third this morning. I phoned my lfs after finding the one today just in case it was a bad batch, he hasn't heard of any problems with the others he sold. Just wondered if anyone could offer any theories regarding what's going on
My tank is 125 litres
Temp. 25
Ph 7.4
Ammonia. 0
Nitrite. 0
Nitrate. 10
I added the panda Corys 2 weeks ago and last week added 5 black widow tetras, other tank mates are 2 opaline gourami, 5 red phantom tetras, 3 bronze Corys and a German blue ram
I do a twice weekly 50% water change with prime and add flourish excel a couple times a week
The tanks been running about 4 years now with no recent changes to decor

I hate to say this but those fish aren't environmentally compatible.
The Cories prefer a temperature of 23-25'c whereas GBR like higher like 28-30'c.
So you might have to return one of the two species. Sorry I had to say this.

Well as my rams been with me for 2 1/2 yrs I must be doing something right lol, I've just recently lost her mate and she's still perky. I researched before getting them and found info stating their temp range was 25.5 - 29.5, didn't think they'd split hairs over half a degree  this is why I got the pandas as my tanks just within their temp range, and I don't think it's the temperature killing them off.

Hmmm...ok...I have no idea then ????

pandas are fragile little corys, i say it time and time again, keep them in larger numbers 12+, give them LOADS of places to hide and never buy small ones, get adults.
