Well once my pinks are done taking care of their babies and their bigenough to remove and give away, I was wondering if an oscar could be able to live in the tank once the other things were out.

Please help me, I want to find out ASAP if it would work. If it wont, what would work?

Nope, when very juvenile a 15 Gallons will do, but within weeks they'll need something a lot larger. 50 Gallons would be more like it then, also, when fully grown I believe its supposed to be around 70 Gallons ... though, some seem to think you can keep a fully grown in a 50 Gallon.

Neither did I to be honest with you! But I've seen a lot of discussions on this forum about what tank size an oscar should be kept in ... so thats about all I know about them!! ;)

lol well what else would work inthat tank? I dont want to do discus becuase their too expencive. I was thinking some kribs? or a couple angels or a hord of neons

I'd say, go for a green spotted puffer ... but I'm biased when it comes to puffers! :p This, however, would mean you're gonna have a brackish water setup.

I would go for kribs or angels in a tank that size (although Angels will need an 18" tall tank when fully grown).

There are lots of other colourful dwarf cichlids you could house in there, Rams for example.

However, an Oscar would most certainly not be suitable for a tank that size for more than a couple of weeks..

You could get a cory community with schools of several different types of corydoras, which would be interesting. Or you could get dwarf puffers, they are FW. Angels would be very cool also.

theres no place around here that sells dps :( The bum that runs the closer lfs would order them for me at like 150 a piece then would tripple the cost of them for me. I could run to petsmart or petco but thats almost an hour away and i think the water would be too cold by then. So I dont know what to do. If I found a cool fish I wanted, then it would be at the bums shop and it would be 3x its worth. A neon tetra from him is about 2.50. a fancy guppy is 4.50. So i guess I'll have to just look around or order online.

You could go to petsmart for a puffer and use one of those heat-sealing boxes used for transporting fish long distances. Anyway yeah the bum's shop does seem like it has some pretty steep prices neons and guppies here are $0.99. :p
