I have a 27 gallon fish tank with 6 neon tetras, 6 guppies, 2 platies, 2 salfin mollies, 2 ballon mollies and a aquatic frog. I was wondering if i could add a red tailed sharks and a crab into my tank, since ive seen fish tanks with those fish combinations. + im also gonna add some plecos and catfish.

what is your ph and hardness? i think you should move the tetras to a soft water tank they will be happier. crabs may eat the fish.(i am not sure) catfish should be fine, like cory cats and otos sharks need lower ph i think i remember that for the rainbow shark, so it will not go great. i think keep it at 1 pleco becuase some are territorial in a medium sized tank, some catfish (reccomend cories if you have SAND and no sharp or scratchy rocks or decorations. and raise the ph and hardness with some limestone or rift lake salts(if it is low)

No.

Tank is not long enough for a red tail shark, and they can get mean when they mature.

Crabs and freshwater crayfish do eat things at night, as mentioned by Sgooosh. They should be kept in their own tank with no other tank mates.

Mollies, guppies and platies come from water with a pH above 7.0 and a GH around 200ppm for platies & guppies, and a GH above 250ppm for mollies.

Neon tetras and Corydoras catfish come from water with a pH below 7.0 and a GH below 100ppm.

Frogs normally come from soft water with a pH around 7.0 and a GH below 100ppm. However, frogs should not be kept with fish because the medications used to treat fish will kill the frogs. Most frogs will eat small fish, snails and shrimp.

My ph is around 6.8 to 7.2 i think, and ive aearched uo and all the fish im looking for can live in those conditions but im not sure if the redtailed shark will kill other fish, or if it will attack my african dwarf frog

Thanks for telling me about the sharks. I was really looking forward to have them:( about the frogs, i already have it in my fish tank for a few weeks and my fish and the frog seem to get along quite well actually

As long as the fish don't get sick and need treating, you should be fine. However, if the fish get sick, the frog will need to be moved into a different tank when you treat the fish.

The best way to prevent fish from getting sick is to do big (75%) water changes and gravel clean the substrate every week. And clean the filter at least once a month. Wash filter media/ materials in a bucket of tank water and re-use the media. Tip the bucket of dirty water on the lawn.
Make sure any new water is free of chlorine/ chloramine before it's added to the tank.

Quarantine any new fish, shrimp, snails or plants for at least 2 (preferably 4) weeks before adding them to an established tank.

I'm pretty sure there shouldn't be any problems if your tank can hold all these fish
i think there are problems with hardness, ph, and stocking as plecos are poop machines also cories need sand substrate...
*ive not been here for like a few days, didnt reeaad other threads :)
