Hi this is my first post here! I'm going to be getting a new tank soon (100l-ish) and I'd really like an odd ball in it.
However I'd prefer it if it isn't a puffer or goby (I have loads of gobies) and it'd be cool if its a bottom dweller or a cool middle/top dwelling fish. I'm looking for an eel like fish or basically something that is awesome lol.
Thanks for helping guys
P.s. if you know of any really cool gobies that aren't stiphodon or rhinogobiys I'd probably get them :p

Hi! Welcome to TFF. :) One thing we may need is your hardness reading, or dH.

I can't think of many eel-like fish suitable for that tank, but there are two types of fish that come to mind in the bottom dwelling department. Peacock gudgeons are gorgeous little fish, that while they are not technically gobies, they kinda hold the appearance of one. They thrive in softer water.

If you have harder water, a rainbow darter comes to mind. (I love these guys xD) They need a faster flowing habitat, which would make for a cool looking tank.
There are other types of darters, but I have no clue about them. :p

A very cool top dweller I know of is a hatchetfish. A full school of these guys would look amazing. There are a few color variations, but here is one.

Take a look at the half-banded spiny eel. It's from the same family as the fire and tyre track eels but stays much smaller. I have 3 in my 160l. I reckon you'd easy squeeze a pair in your tank.
