I have various ideas

Could I keep one pair of Rams, some neons and some Cories in a 20g planted fish tank?

I feel I would be pushing it slightly?

What about Kribs (one pair) neons and cories?

failing either of those is there one fish that I could buy 6-8 and just have a "one school tank"

the LFS have some cute looking albino Kribs

thank you GFG

Well, the Kribs one could work.

I would rather recommend maybe a massive shoal of neon's or better still, black neon's and some Cories... or how about:

1 Male Simease Fighter (really striking colour)
12-16 Neon/Black Neon Tetra
5 Panda Cories (or other Cory breed)

In a planted tank that would look great and any tetra in that number will shoal brilliantly!

THank you!

I had kinda got my eye on a 4 G for a betta, hmmm.

I know you mean neons or blackneons, but could I mix the two?

Can you tell I am all over the place as far as planning stock?! am trying to get it right before I get the shop and say ooo that's pretty....

thanks again
GFG

LOL! Trying to avoid temptation is an art that very few fish-keepers can master (including me!) You could mix the black neons and normal neons.. but to be honest a shoal of one or the other rather than both will give some stunning results, espically if densley planted.

I don't think you are all over the place with stocking.. at least your planning ahead which is unlike some silly fish-keepers.

I wouldnt put a pair or Kribs in there, if they spawn they will get aggressive towards all the bottom fish.

I was hoping there would be enough territory for both. Could have a larger school of neons instead?

thanks
GFG

Rams and Kribs are both Cichlids, they get quite territorial and can be aggressive. Mixing either with Corydoras is not a great idea since corys have no concept of territory and may aggravate the larger fish into attacking.
Something like 12 small tetras and 6 corydoras would be reasonable for a tank that size I think. Or possibly 10 small tetras, 6 corydoras and a dwarf gourami.
