Hi everyone. I have looked at loads of fish and read up on others stocking lists but still need some advice. I want to get a rough idea of my full stock before getting any fish.

Tank is 200L roma and will be pretty well planted I reckon, not too heavily though.

The fish I prefer are the more active, colorful fish. Here is a list of fish which have taken my eye:
  • Silver Dollars (read they destroy planting though)
  • Congo Tetra
  • Neon Tetra
  • Golden Algae Eater
  • Angelfish
  • Bolivian Barbs
  • Glass Catfish
  • Rainbow Shark

This is just a shortlist of the ones Im aware of. Any colorful recommendations are welcome and appreciated. Im aware there is a lot of compatibility problems with the fish mentioned above. All tips and suggestion wanted.

hi, i wouldn't get the silver dollars, because they will eat your plants, and in my experience, they aren't very active at all. i've heard mixed opinions on keeping neons with angel fish, apparently they will be fine if they grow up together from a young age, but if you add some neons to a tank with angels in, or visa versa, then the angels will eat the neons. are the 'golden algae eaters' Chinese algae eaters? if so then they will get very territorial with age, and will need meaty foods in their diets.

cheers :good:

Thanks, any other recommended fish? I should have mentioned I don't know about the activity of the fish really. Just going by the appearance (seen online and some instore).

I would prefer not to stock my tank all at once so most likely would want to start off with tetras and small fish, then later add the larger fish.

As far as other shoaling fish go, black neons could provide contrast when in with neons. Glowlights are also another small tetra down in the same small size range. Rummy noses and Penguin Tetras are getting a little bigger. Head&Taillights are another tetra. Cherry Barbs. Honey or Pearl gouramis. Rasbora Heteromorpha are beautiful in big shoals and significantly more active than neons. WD
